Lovely Latvia and its National Treasures.

The weather has spoiled us with lots of sunshine and smiles in student’s faces. Sunny weather, spring flowers in our school’s backyard and exciting activities about Latvia. It has been another exciting week for the Early Years. Have a look at what our little students have been doing this week?

OAK.
Besides continuing to explore our unit of inquiry "Lovely Latvia" by learning to dance Latvian song "Kas Dārzā", students also focused on Math activities. They explored numbers and counting by building and comparing the height of towers. Students also were curious about a variety of shapes and created them by adding different patterns. Which patterns do you know?

MAPLE.
We began this week with celebrating birthdays for two of our children! Melissa turned 5 and Ella – 4! Happy Birthday, friends!
The children decided to create their own map of Latvia adding to it everything they know: Laima painted the see, Roberts – river Daugava and Rundale castle, Mikhail – Bauska Castle, Georgs drew the road from Riga to Liepāja, Charlotte and Melissa added green forest!!!!
Our language programme has become a great success! Simeon was really busy designing new name cards for his classmates’ cubbies. Please, see the pictures.
We were discussing Latvian tradition of celebrating Mother’s Day in the middle of May and children decided to make a present for their mommies! Happy Mother’s Day!

LINDEN.
We have had so much fun in Linden this week exploring and learning about patterns. We started our week with a pattern walk. We found so many patterns just around the preschool building but wanted to see what we could find outside the gates. We took photos of all the patterns, and when we came back, we looked at the pictures and printed the best ones. We can now talk about patterns and tell you what the pattern is. During the week we explored different kinds of patterns and listened to stories and songs about patterns. We started exploring traditional Latvian patterns by deconstructing the patterns.
To all our mommies have a lovely day on Sunday and remember we love you so much.

Reminder: Older students are going on a field trip to the Forest at ‘Bumbu Kalniņš’ on Monday, 15th of May. They will leave the school at 9:15 am and will come back at approximately 2.00 p.m.

  1. This is really a nice way to teach kids of primary education. People who are looking for the best pre-school in Paldi Ahmedabad can visit Eloquence Play School.
