International day and Easter!

This short week of school has been filled with many exciting events! The Early Years students celebrated the International Days at ISR. On Monday morning the Early Years students took part in the parade which brought together so many nationalities.

On Tuesday afternoon we enjoyed the International day concert, where a variety of performances from different countries were presented on the stage. Our young students were curious about performances and enjoyed watching it.

Students also discovered some Latvian traditions by learning how to dye Easter eggs. They were surprised to see the result of dying eggs using onion leaves, tea leaves, rice and other herbs! Besides this exciting activity, they were curious to find out about Easter tradition in Chech Republik. Voijta's mom and Matej's brother from Grade 5 visited each class and told us about Easter traditions in their country. Thank you for sharing these traditions with us!

On Wednesday morning we all went on a field trip to the Open Air Museum and experienced Latvian Easter traditions. We had a morning filled with activities from chasing the winter away to an Easter egg hunt. We came back tired and very hungry.

We wish all of you a wonderful Easter break! See every one of you on the 18th of April!
