Enjoying the Magic of Fairy Tales and Stories!

We hope you and your family had a lovely autumn break! We are happy to see our students being happy and enjoying the school! This week has gone so fast! On Monday the older children of the Early Years went to the Forest within the Forest programme and were exploring math through the nature voyage. Together with their teachers they went on a forest scavenger hunt and came back carrying baskets full of different treasures. Students were exploring the weight of each forest treasure by weighing and comparing them. Please, see the pictures!

We have started a new unit of inquiry “Once upon a time”.  It has been an exciting week in each class of the Early Years:

Oak.
The Oak students were curious to discover their new unit of inquiry "Once Upon A Time" by playing with finger puppets and being engaged in creative play. It's great to see their creativity and imagination developing through their own made-up stories!

Linden.
In Linden this week we had lots of fun exploring our classroom. There are exciting new resources and activities in our class. We have enjoyed our new timetable which allows us more time with our own teachers. This week we have started our unit “Once upon a time” and we enjoyed reading our friend's favourite stories from home. We had fun playing at the sensory table with the rice and the 3 Bears bowls and spoons. We were very excited to find a box of dress-up clothes. It was great to see the amazing bridges that the children were making in the block corner after looking at photos of real bridges around the world. In SFA we worked with letter sounds /p/ and /g/.

Maple.

Maple group children were excited to explore the new classroom environment: a castle with knights and horses, storytelling corner, sensory center with pies, dress up box, big castle box and new books in our classroom library. The children were happy to share their books with favourite stories and fairy-tales they brought from home. They slowly began to make connections between classroom environment and our Unit of Inquiry. The children listened and watched the fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea” and started to act out the story using self-made puppets, drawings and props. This week we listened to two letters sounds - P and G.

Reminder: We are looking forward to seeing you all next Thursday, 10th of November, for the "Early Literacy and Mother Tongue Development" event in the preschool Yellow room! This event will start at 8:30am.
