Sprouting Up! May 21st - 25th 2012

This week the preschool children have enjoyed warm and sunny weather.  Outside play time continues to present students with the details surrounding our unit of inquiry, Sprouting Up!   The trees and bushes are full of green lush leaves and the grass on the lawn and the plants in the flower beds have grown noticeably.

The Toddlers have decorated their windows with colourful blooms that they created in art class with Ms. Valda.  The Preschool 1 and 2 children have partnered up with the Kindergarten A and B classes to transfer seedlings and flowers into flower pots the Kindergarten children made during their Living in Harmony unit of inquiry.  A theme the older children shared with the preschool children was that people have responsibility to keep balance in nature.  In return, we shared with the Kindergarten children that plants change as they grow.

In the following weeks we will begin to prepare for the sports day activities!  We are also looking forward to a few more field trips in the coming weeks.

Finally, the Preschool teachers would  like to thank all of the children and families that were able to participate in the Student Led Conferences.  It was a pleasure to see and hear what the children shared with their parents.
